Lady Antebellum Continues The Success With Dancin’ Away With My Heart
Lady Antebellum continues the success With Dancin’ Away With My Heart, the third single from their third album “Own the Night.” Released in December 2011, it reached 15 on the Billboard country chart. The two previous singles from the album, “Just a Kiss” and “We Own the Night,” both broke the Billboard Top Twenty on the country chart as well.
Lead singer Hillary Scott and bandmate Charles Kelly trade off sentimental vocals about a long-lost senior prom date. The lush harmonies match the sumptuous production. It’s hardly a groundbreaker in terms of either style or substance, but nonetheless the song possesses a melody that’s light on the ears and a winning pop-country polish. In other words, it’s catchy but not unforgettable. The song was co-written by the members of Lady Antebellum with veteran songwriter Josh Kear.
Lady Antebellum has spend the last half-decade dancin’ away with more than just country music fans’ hearts. The group has been on a roll practically since the day they debuted in Nashville in 2006. “Own the Night” is nominated for a 2012 Grammy award for Best Country Album. The group has racked up dozens of awards from the Academy of Country Music, The Country Music Association, the Teen Choice Awards, the American Music Awards, The Billboard Music Awards and the Grammy Awards.
The band comes by their country music success story thanks to strong family connections. Charles Kelley is the brother of singer-songwriter Josh Kelly, while Hillary Scott is the daughter of Grammy winner and Reba McEntire protege Linda Davis. Expect this country trio’s star to continue to rise.
It seems that the country music industry has finally figured out that even if a song does not have an official video, that they should release the music with the lyrics on video channels so fans can have a chance to connect with their favorite bands until a full length video is produced. This is what Lady Antebellum has done with “Dancin’ Away With My Heart.”
