   i LOVE “big green tractor”! me and my sister jam OUT to that song in the car while cracking up and trying to sing at the same time…haha i also love the rascal flatts! i used to not like country music that much but i LOVE it…me and my sister just jam OUT all the time to it while she dances i sit there laughing cuz people stare…lol

   Actually where is Country Music? If it were not for people like George Strait, Alan Jackson and a very few other there would not me any country music.

   Seems like their song Murder On Music Row sure does apply. Was sort of hoping that the CMA and CMT would at least in some form reconigze Traditional Country Music.

   Nope not only did they not have anything at all for true Country music they did not even push REAL country music yes folks real country BLUEGRASS you know the music that actually started it all and still has a pretty good following.

   It would seem CMT and CMA have both just followed the MONEY. I think there are some people still listening to what they call country music now a days that agree two of the biggest players in country music (CMA ansd CMT) have deserted it for the MONEY.

   Well lets get the names straight then:

   CMT was Country Music Television
   NOW it is CONFUSED MUSIC TELEVISION
   as the same with:
   CMA -Country Music Association
   NOW – CONFUSED MUSIC ASSOCATION

   Todays country music is no more that what was ROCK and ROLL in the 50′s 60′s and 70′s. Go back and listen to it folks Rock and Roll came from COUNTRY MUSIC.

   Now all they do is play the music as loud as they can so you can’t hear the singer which would bring one to wonder if thew singer is any good at all letting people actually hear their voice like True country Singers do.

   Ok expect I have stirred up a hornets nest hear let me go to another, maybe some where along the waysomebody will actually understand what has been said here.

   Milt, if you’re going to give Country credit for rock n roll, then you’d better credit it all to the Blues, around long before either had any following…the rhythms, chords and slide gave birth to EVERYTHING that came afterward and is popular today. Stevie Ray Vaughan & ZZ Top are great examples utilizing the blues to give their music heart, not just heart-strings.

   I’m a recent convert to Country, and not to dis the legends from old country, but they never did much for me growing up. The whole reason I’ve converted is because of the crossover artists I’ve been listening to the past decade…that’s when I realized they were “Songs About Me” and locked me in solid.

   Just saw my first Country concert last Saturday, and Toby Keith and Trace Adkins solidified it for me.

    I was on a road trip this past saturday nite, and I heard a song on the country radio station, I have no idea what or who sang it but it was beautiful if someone could help me out i would appreciate it. It goes:

    As a country song writer i find myself pulled from the “old” country to the “new” country.

    Things change in the world people, country music isn’t going to stay the same. That’s why they are called “new songs”. This world is changing and so music changes with it. People need to stop looking at it as a bad thing. You people who talk about “real country music”, this stuff is REAL its just NEW. Stop being so stuck in the old days and let the world keep spinning. ITS GOOD MUSIC.

    hey guys, alll of you saying this isnt country, go tell that to George Strait, His new song “Twang” is the same style as most new country, same with some of the older Strait and Garth Brooks, Brooks n Dunn, and so on, things change and if you look back they move in the direction that others have set for them, new country artists stands on the shoulders of the country giants such as George and Garth.

    I have to agree with travis, new country singer like taylor swift have gone more modern but if u watch any of their interviews they all say they were inspired by the legends.But u also have to look at it as a marketing stander to who buys the new CD’s kids or their parents.So the new singer have to make songs to their listeners

    Taylor Swift is a poor example of country music. She sings the same old melodies that are not country generated. Her voice leaves a lot to be desired. Quite monotone in most songs. No vocal range whatsoever. She needs to move into the pop genre.

    So does it really matter if we like country because of Taylor Swift? All music has taken bits and pieces from every other type of music… I think one day all music will be the same. Does it really matter though? As long as you stick by what you like and that particular artist, keep buying their music, encourage their creative, and love the music, I don’t think it really does. So keep your opinions to yourself the taylor swift is not country neither is kid rock but they play him. So she Reba McEntire or George Strait or whatever if you don’t like it change the station just my idea

    For everyone that says country music has changed i’m not saying your completely wrong the music has changed but country is not for the music it’s for the lessons the lyrics and the life stories. When the artist make the songs the lyrics come first then the music so you can probably tell what I mean

    I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!!!!!!!!! Why does she even call herself COUNTRY?!?!? Shes more like something you listen to when you want to be in complete agony. Then you have Carrie Underwood- shes country. I love Carrie Underwood- she’s the best singer in the world. I think she should have put Starts WIth Goodbye out as a single, but whatever… And Cowboy Casanova should have been up there! I love that song, although not as much as I love Just a Dream. I think its really cool because Carrie and I have the same name, we both piano, we both love to sing (although I’m not good), and we both play(ed) softball. I think that’s pretty cool. Just one more thing- where’s pray for you? I think that song is so FUNNY!

    So Lynne….Taylor Swift IS country…if you’re a good enough fan to listen to her OTHER stuff besides whats popular you would know. And music changes, country is still country and it’s just as good as ever. That’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it, but don’t diss artists just because you don’t agree. They work hard to get where they are…and clearly it’s working with all of their fans.

    Take It Easy!!, not all country fans are hunters and meat eaters, and Carrie does a lot of charity work for many charities. She is very much country and the Oklahoma native has a strong commitment to the Country Music Community.

    I love, love, love Uncle Kracker! Smile is an awesome song. I love it. Plus Lover, Lover by Jerrod Niemann. I’ve been a country girl all my life and these are definately the two best songs I’ve heard….so far anyway.

    JC – Why would you ever say someone who just graduated doesn’t know anything life, love and relationships? Give teenagers the benefit of the doubt, we’re not all pot-smoking assholes who want to cause controversy.
    And I wouldn’t say TSwift is the sterotypical “country”, but some of her songs have that country “twang” if that’s what you want to call it.

    I think that everone should just keep their comments of wether they like taylor swift or not to themselves. Apparently she’s country enough to be in the top 20 otherwise she wouldn’t be on here. The country radio stations keep playing her songs and aren’t going to stop. Carrie Underwood and her are both talented and I’m not saying that I particularily LOVE her but her songs are good enough to listen to. So stop hating and get over it.

    So, why is everyone saying that Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood is country singers when they are not. Even in their voices they don’t sound country at all. I have listened to country music my whole life and I have to say, I love the old better than this new stuff. Although, some of the songs are catchy.

    Yeah, even though I like Lady Antebellum.. It’s just the fact that the song Need you Now is only get air time playing because it sounds soo much like a pop love song.

    Ugh, did I mention the fact that I really don’t like Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood. I wouldn’t mind seeing them both switch over to pop instead of trying to sing country songs when they aren’ devoted to it. Stick to one genre please <3

    I’ve always loved country music and I barely listen to anything else. I just read through a lot of what people said and I don’t understand why we some of us just can’t like the old and the new. Country music has moved on a lot from what it used to be, though I can’t say I agree with some people that said the instruments are loud to block the voices or that its just rock and roll now.
    It still is Country just a new feel to it, a lot of the songs still use instruments common in older music.

    i’ll always be a bigger fan of the “old” country music. none of these newcomers are country. there’s only a few left that are truly country (george strait, reba mcintyre, hank jr, alan jackson, trace adkins, tim mcgraw and others). i love taylor swift’s music but she is not country in any way. same goes for carrie underwood.

    It is hard to find some of the old country music that is the roots of modern country music, but Nashville still continues to provide a lot of high quality musicians and singers that want to make pure country. All country artists seem to be mixing in some of the modern pop and rock music sound.

    Carrie Underwood and Taylor ARE country. I love Carrie Underwood and am not a fan of Taylor Swift, but I would be a hypocryte to call one country and not the other. I don’t care what you say, they have blessed us with their talents by singing our genre, the ever strong country, and isn’t that enough? Why question if they are pop or country? They help convert other people over to country music. They hear Carrie Underwood, like it, and listen to country. They might have never listened to it before then, but now they find that they love a genre they have told everyone they hated for their whole life. People like Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift are converters. They are amazing singers and I will never doubt whether or not they are country because I know that they are no matter what anyone says. There is no doubt in my mind.

    OMG! Have you heard Carrie Underwood’s ‘What Can I Say’? It will be the best 3 minutes and 57 seconds of your life. No doubt about it. Course her classics are still really good too, like ‘Lessons Learned’, ‘Just a Dream’, ‘So Small’, and ‘Starts With Goodbye’.

    Why do we have to argue about it? So country music has evolved?! Like every other genre of music, what’s the big deal? I absolutely love older country, like David Allen Coe, Hank Sr, Johnny, etc… but I also love newer country.. Some of the new artists are more ‘country’ then others, but that doesn’t take away that these artists are producing hits!
