Tim McGraw Hosting Saturday Night Live Nov. 22nd
Tim McGraw to host ‘Saturday Night Live’ on November 22. He will be joining a short list of country stars, including Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton, to host the show.
McGraw’s hits include “Live Like You Were Dying,” “Where the Green Grass Grows” and his latest, “Let It Go.”
This comes as good timing to help support his upcoming holiday movie “Four Christmases,” due out later this month.
Tim McGraw Offers Simple Advice To Parents
Tim McGraw, as the father of three girls, understands the challenges that face dads who want to please their daughters.
McGraw’s new children’s book “My Little Girl”, which was co-written with songwriter Tom Douglas, has some simple advice… As long as you’re spending time with your daughters, it doesn’t really matter what you do!
McGraw says he’s found that his daughters aged 6, 10 and 11 like coming along while he does the simple everyday stuff like running to the grocery store or stopping by the office.
“Do what you have to do in your regular routine and take them with you. It makes all the difference in the world”, says McGraw.
“My Little Girl” arrives in stores tomorrow (Tuesday October 21st).
Tim McGraw Has Finished New Album
Tim McGraw said yesterday in Nashville that he has finished work on an all new album. But McGraw isn’t sure when it will be released by record label, Curb Records.
McGraw is unhappy with Curb Records for releasing his Greatest Hits 3 album. He issued a statement on Tuesday apologizing to fans for the release of the Greatest Hits 3 album.
McGraw said he was not involved in discussions about the release of the greatest hits collection and was preparing his new album for release this fall.
Curb Records executive vice president and general manager Dennis Hannon issued a statement claiming he had “numerous conversations with McGraw’s representatives with respect to all aspects of the Greatest Hits 3 album”.
During an Interview with syndicated radio producers yesterday McGraw noted, “I’ve already said, really, what I needed to say about it. I think as an artist, I just wanted my fans to know that I wasn’t trying to screw them — period. They’ve all got that music. I’ve only had one album out since the last greatest hits album. It’s time for new music”.
New Releases From Tim McGraw & George Strait
Tim McGraw releases his “Greatest Hits 3″ today and George Strait releases his “Classic Christmas” album.
McGraw’s album includes 12 songs including “If You’re Reading This” plus a live version of “Real Good Man”. His recent collaborations with Tracy Lawrence and Def Leppard are also included on the album.
Strait’s holiday album is a re-issue of Fresh Cut Christmas which Strait released exclusively through Hallmark Gold Crown Stores in 2006.
Selections include “We Three Kings”, “Up on the Housetop”, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, “Deck the Halls”, “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”.
Tim McGraw To Perform for Military Personnel in Texas
Tim McGraw will be performing for military personnel and their families at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas tomorrow.
McGraw will be performing with his band the Dancehall Doctors at the concert which is expected to draw a crowd of around 25,000 at MacArthur Field.
McGraw said, “We can only begin to sympathize the immense sacrifice the soldiers and their families make on a daily basis”.
McGraw also said, “We hope our show gives them a brief interlude of their duties and time to enjoy themselves for a little while”.
Hurricane Gustav Delays Swampstock 2008
Due to the effects of Hurricane Gustav in Louisiana, Tim McGraw has postponed the Swampstock 2008 concert until 2009.
The event was originally planned for September 13th with appearances planned from Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean and many others.
However, the area of Rayville where the concert was due to be held has been drenched in more than 20 inches of rain over just the past few days. Louisiana has been declared a disaster area by government officials.
McGraw said, “We have spoken with local officials, and Neighbor’s Keeper Foundation wants to lend its support to those relief efforts”.
McGraw also added, “Although Faith and I are personally disappointed, we understand that the priority is people’s homes and livelihood in this challenging time. Our prayers are with our friends and neighbors, and God bless them”.
The concert was being presented by the Neighbor’s Keeper Foundation which is a non-profit organation which was founded by McGraw and Hill.
The Smell Of Success For Tim McGraw
Tim McGraw’s new fragrance, “McGraw” is described as “a woody, spicy fragrance that’s irresistibily masculine”.
Developed with Coty Beauty the new fragrance sells for around $23 and is available at Kohls if you would like to give it a try.
The fragrance comes in a rectangular glass bottle and has a silver cap and a black leather like collar which looks slightly like the brim of McGraw’s cowboy hat.
Tim McGraw Returning Home For Swampstock 2008
Tim McGraw is returning home to Rayville, Louisiana to host “Swampstock 2008″ on Saturday, September 13th 2008.
Swampstock started back in 1994 in downtown Rayville. Proceeds are given back to Mcgraw’s hometown community. The proceeds from previous years have been used towards Rayville Youth Baseball and the Steve Colvin Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will be performing on the steps of Richland Parish Courthouse. It’s also been confirmed that Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, Halfway to Hazard and Catherine Raney will perform.
Speaking about the event, Tim McGraw said, “We are anxious to return this year with an amazing line up of artists”.
New Singing Greeting Cards Feature Tim McGraw & Rascal Flatts
Hallmark, the greeting card company has started distributing singing greeting cards with country singers like Tim McGraw and the Rascal Flatts doing the singing!
Every card features 30 seconds of one of the artists songs along with a greeting that matches the song’s theme.
The store display unit features a photo of the artist but the image does not appear on the cards.
There are four cards featuring Tim McGraw for birthdays featuring 30 seconds from songs like “Down on the Farm”, “Live Like You Were Dying” and “My Next Thirty Years.”
There are also two cards best categorized as “love cards” featuring sound from “Just to See You Smile” and “I Like It, I Love It”.
The Rascal Flatts cards feature songs like “Mayberry”, “Fast Cars and Freedom” and “Here’s to You” for birthdays and “Love You Out Loud”, “Thanks for Being You” and “Shine On” in the love cards.
There are cards from other country artists on the way too including Alan Jackson, Faith Hill, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Martina McBride, Billy Ray Cyrus, George Strait and Vince Gill.
The cards are currently selling in most Hallmark outlets and drugstores nationwide. The cards are selling for $4.95 in the U.S. and $6.49 in Canada.
Dierks Bentley To Be Joined By Tim McGraw & John Rich For Celebrity Motorcycle Ride
Dierks Bentley is set to be joined by Tim McGraw and John Rich on October 5th when he hosts the third annual Miles & Music for Kids celebrity motorcycle ride and concert. The event will raise money for the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
The hour long ride will begin south of Nashville and end at Riverfront Park in downtown Nashville. There will then be a concert featuring the three stars.
Dierks Bentley said “This event has turned into one of the highlights of my year” and added “I can’t think of a better way to spend an October day in Nashville than riding motorcycles in the afternoon and playing guitars and singing with some buddies at sundown. Everyone has been so supportive, and I’m really proud of the money we’ve been able to raise for Vanderbilt over the last few years”.
It’s expected that more artists will be announced soon.
