Canadian Country music fans were happy to learn that Tim McGraw and Reba McEntire will be headlining the first ever Cavendish Beach Music Festival.
The event will be held in the Avonlea Village of Cavendish, Prince Edward Island, which is located on the east coast of Canada, about a three hours drive from the U.S.- Canada Border.

The three-day outdoor concert event is scheduled for July 10-12. Other performers include a lineup of 20 country artists, including Doc Walker and Aaron Lines. Tickets for the first annual show go on sale March 14.
The festival will take place behind Avonlea Village, a site that can accommodate 65,000 people. Jeff Squires, co-owner of Cavendish Beach Music Festival Inc., is telling news sources that the company plans to continue the festival for years to come.

Grammy winner Faith Hill and husband Tim McGraw will be part of a group of musicians in a concert Feb. 6, that will be honoring Neil Diamond as the 2009 MusiCares Person of the Year.
Jimmy Kimmel will be in charge of the festivities, which will also include silent auction and a full reception. MusiCares was was first started in 1989 by the Recording Academy whom also oversees the annual Grammy Awards ceremony.

The Academy is honoring Diamond for his musical achievements and charitywork. Diamond recently made large contributions to help relief efforts in Texas for areas affected by Hurricane Ike.

MusiCares is a foundation that ensures those who are currently, or have in the past, in the music industry have a place to turn in times of money, health and personal need. Previously announced performers include Raul Malo, the Jonas Brothers, Adele, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Josh Groban and Jennifer Hudson. Neil Diamond will also perform at the event.

Tim McGraw to host ‘Saturday Night Live’ on November 22. He will be joining a short list of country stars, including Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton, to host the show.

McGraw’s hits include “Live Like You Were Dying,” “Where the Green Grass Grows” and his latest, “Let It Go.”

This comes as good timing to help support his upcoming holiday movie “Four Christmases,” due out later this month.
