Taylor Swift is Highest Album Seller in 2008

As can be expected, Taylor Swift was the Highest Album selling Artist of 2008 in Country Music. but even more amazing is the fact that she is the No. 1 album seller for all music genres, this has to be very satisfying for the 19 year old Country Star from Pennsylvania. This was achieved between the sales of her self named first album “Taylor Swift” and also with sales of her 2008 smash release Fearless.

The combined total was over 4 million albums sold, she also had an album and dvd release exclusive to Wal-Mart that added to her other two album sales to reach this top selling figure. Taylor was not the single album top, although both her albums sold over One Million each, that honor went to Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter III” selling 2,874,000 albums between downlods and sales at the register. Miss Swift is sure to tour this Summer in support of her top country hits, and then continue with recording another album in 2009.

Taylor Swift “Fearless” Album Jumps Back Into Top Position

Just when you think the Taylor Swift Phenomana is about to calm down, the 19 year old’s music just keeps chugging along in the top spot of the Billboard charts.

This week the album “Fearless” pushed Britney Spears “Circus” out of the Billboard No. 1 Position on the Pop Album charts , and shows the staying power of the Country Music Star, who recently had her Wisdom Teeth Pulled.

Taylor seems to always have a release of some kind going on, and here is the AOL video of “White Horse”, which was done as part of a series, and really shows Taylor’s ability to sing in a live aucoustic type setting.

Taylor Swift is ‘Fearless’ on Country Billboards

Taylor Swift woke up yesterday to find out the album ‘Fearless’ was #1 on the Billboard Country album charts.

“I found out about my album going to No. 1 when my mom woke me up this morning,” Swift said Wednesday. “The final numbers are beyond my wildest dreams — I never expected this!”
As of this week she has 6 songs in the top 100 including the Current #1 Hit ‘Love Story’ and seems destined to have more chart toppers.

Women Rock eBay For The Cure

An auction to raise money for cancer issues starts today at 5pm CT on eBay.

The online auction will run until October 3rd and includes items signed by Taylor Swift, Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, Faith Hill, Avril Lavigne and many more.

The auction is being held in association with the “Women Rock For The Cure” concert taking place on October 2nd and will raise money for cancer issues.

Taylor Swift has autographed a Kate Spade purse and matching clutch. Garth Brooks is personalizing a CD package for the highest bidder. Little Big Town applied the band’s names to a pair of Tony Lama boots.

Signed guitars are also being donated by Keith Urban, Jewel, Emily West, Rachel Proctor and Jessi Alexander. Other items are being auctioned off from Sarah McLachlan, Faith Hill and Avril Lavigne.

New Taylor Swift Song To Feature On Grey’s Anatomy Premiere

If you’re a fan of Taylor Swift you’ll be interested to know that the two hour season premiere of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy will feature a new song from her.

The song will debut on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday 25th September. The song is from Swift’s upcoming album, “Fearless” which is due to be released on November 11th.

Swift said, “It’s one of the songs that I am really proud of on the record because it’s so sparse - it’s guitar, piano and cello”.

“It talks about falling in love and the fairy tales that you are going to have with this person, and then there is that moment where you realize that it is not going to happen. That moment is the most earth-shattering moment”.

Taylor Swift Makes Waves Overseas

Taylor Swift may be big news in the U.S. but she’s been wowing crowds in London, England in her first European concert.

The sold out concert at King’s College, London adds to Swift’s hectic schedule at the moment. She will return to the U.S. for a performance in Los Angeles on Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards hosted by English Actor Russell Brand.

Swift will then travel to New York for Wednesday’s announcement of the Country Music Association nominations with the Rascal Flatts. She will be joining the Flatts again the following night in Virginia Beach when the Bob That Head Tour continues.

If that isn’t enough, Swift will appear as the co-host of ABC special “CMA Music Fest - Country’s Night To Rock” with Kellie Pickler and Julianne Hough. The special will also feature Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Dwight Yoakam and Rodney Atkins.

No Change At The Top For Sugarland & Taylor Swift

Sugarland’s album, “Love On The Inside” has kept the top position in the country album chart this week.

Taylor Swift also holds onto the top spot in the country singles chart with “Should’ve Said No”. She has also managed a new entry into the singles chart with her song “Change” at number 57.

The soundtrack for “Beer for My Horses” enters the country album chart at number 17.

Dierks Bentley’s new song, “Sweet & Wild” enters the country singles chart at number 51.
