Sugarland Kick Off “Love On The Inside” Tour
Sugarland started it’s “Love On the Inside” tour this weekend with a couple of shows in North Carolina.
With the amount of success Sugarland have had this year, they’re not ignoring the importance of a good response on the concert circuit.
Sugarland certainly have the album sales and awards but Kristian Bush from Sugarland says,
“We’ve learned from watching other artists. Kenny Chesney had a good piece of advice that seems to be ringing true. He said, ‘The only way to measure your success is when you look out and put butts in the seats”.
Nearly all of the “Love On The Inside” tour dates will feature Kellie Pickler and Ashton Shepherd as the opening acts.
The duo received no less than five nominations last week for the 42nd annual Country Music Association Awards. Jennifer Nettles from Suglarland also picked up another nomination for writer of Song of the Year for “Stay”.
Sugarland’s New Video “Already Gone”
Here is the new video from Sugarland, “Already Gone” from the album Love On The Inside.
“Already Gone” Lyrics
My Mama mapped out the road that she knows
Which hands you shake and which hands you hold
In m hand-me-down Mercury, ready to roll
Shhe knew that I had to go
And hangout, make lots of noise
Make the mistakes that she made ’cause she knew all along
I was already gone
I was already gone
I was already gone
Life is a runaway train you can’t wait to jump on
They say the first time won’t ever last
But that didn’t stop me. the first time he laughed
All my friends tried to warn me the day that we met
“Girl, don’t you lost your heart yet”
But his dark eyes dared me with danger
And sparks fly like flame to a paper
Fire in his tourch burning me up, but still I held on
I was already gone
I was already gone
I was already gone
Life is a runaway train you can’t wait to jump on
The last time I say him, we packed up my things
And he smiled like the first time he told me his name
And we cried with each other
We split the blame for the parts that we couldn”t change
Pictures, dished and socks
It’s our whole life down to one box There he was waving goodbye on the front porch alone
But I was already gone
I was already gone
I was already gone
I was already gone
I was already gone
Hangout, make lots of noise
And layout late with a boy
Make the mistakes that she made, life is a runaway train
My mama mapped out the road that she knows
Which hands to shake, which hands you hold
In my hand-me-down Mercury
Life is a runaway train you can’t wait to jump on

Sugarland Lawsuit is “Totally Baseless” Says Attorney
Sugarland’s attorney, Gary Gilbert has released a statement about the recent lawsuit filed by band founder, Kristen Hall.
The statement released by Sugarland’s attorney states that the lawsuit is “totally baseless and without merit.”
The statement also states that “Among other factual inaccuracies suggested in the complaint, it is indisputable that Ms. Hall left the group voluntarily and on her own accord. We are absolutely confident that this matter will be resolved in favor of Jennifer and Kristian”.
Hall left the band in 2005 and filed the lawsuit on July 29th of this year. Hall claims she is owed $1.5 million with interest from the revenue from an unwritten agreement with the band at the time she left the band.
Sugarland’s Taste Of Success Soured By Lawsuit
Founding member of Sugarland, Kristen Hall, is suing Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush for $1.5 million. The lawsuit was filed on July 29th in U.S. District Court in Atlanta.
Hall had left the band in early 2006 and at the time rumors ciculated about why she left but the band simply posted a statement on its Web site stating…
“Kristen has decided that she wants to stay home and write songs, and we support her in that decision.”
Hall either wrote or co-wrote every song on Sugarland’s debut album as well as “Sugarland” which appeared on their second album. It was also Hall’s idea to get a country band together in the first place while she and the other members were working as singer songwriters in Atlanta.
The lawsuit contends that she had an agreement with the band to share in the profits and losses after her departure but that she has never seen any of the profits.
It reads in part that Nettles and Bush “have acted in bad faith, have been stubbornly litigious and have caused Hall unnecessary trouble and expense” by not honoring the agreement and keeping Hall out of the revenue stream.
The lawsuit puts a dampener on the duo’s current number 1 ranking on the all genre Billboard 200 for “Love on the Inside”.
New Sugarland Album Has Homegrown Flavor
A limited edition of Sugarland’s new album, Love on the Inside, will be released tomorrow (Tuesday July 22nd). The limited edition will feature bonus audio and video tracks. The regular edition of the album will be available available on July 29th.
Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush from Sugarland started out making made albums in the typical singer songwriter tradition with everybody gathered in a studio, rehearsed and ready to roll. Now that they’ve sold a few million albums together, their strategy remains intact… to make a homegrown album at home.
For instance, you can hear Nettles’ deep breath before singing the first note of “We Run,” and if you turn up the volume, you’ll notice Bush cracking up at the end of “Steve Earle,” a tongue-in-cheek song inspired by the lovelorn troubadour. And they recorded the whole thing in less than a month.
