Jessica Simpson Hoping to Gain Country Fans
What is Jessica Simpson doing opening for Rascal Flatts? After making a name for herself in Pop music, and hanging out with the L.A. crowd, the Texas raised singer has returned to her country roots.
It will take sometime to gain the following she wants, but after showing her ability to fully embrace her part as Daisy Duke in convincing fashion in the The Dukes of Hazard movie, Jessica Simpson’s talent will make fans appreciate all she can offer, including singing Country songs.
The tour that Jessica is currently on will be making a sidetrip so that the star can take the podium at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on Feb. 11 to announce the nominees for the 2009 Academy of Country Music Awards, this will be another step Jessica’s bid to be accepted by the country music community.

Jessica Simpson Proves Skeptics Wrong
Jessica Simpson’s transition from pop starlet to country singer has had many doubters, but she appears to be proving her many skeptics wrong.
It’s especially true in the national charts. Her first country single “Come On Over”, hit the Top 20 this week on the Mediabase chart.
Jessica performed her first country concert over the weekend at the Country Thunder festival in Wisconsin and got mixed reactions. A reviewer for The Kenosha News said boos were mixed among the applause when she appeared. Her father and manager, Joe Simpson told The Tennessean he heard no negative feedback from the audience and says the festival promoter has already extended an offer for Jessica to return in 2009.
Also, Dolly Parton is set to record vocals today for “Do You Know” which is the title track for Jessica’s first country album. It’s due in stores later this year on 9th September.
