Darius Rucker seems to have made his transition from major pop/rock star with Hootie and The Blowfish to Country Performer rather easily. The songwriter has his third top 20 hit from the – Learn To Live - album with the single – Alright. The video for Darius Ruckers latest single was just released, and you can tell that being a star has not made the singer forget that just having the basics in life are what is really important, and being with the one’s you love the most is just alright with top country artist.

When he made the change over he revealed in an interview the timing was right, and that he has always been a country music fan since he was a child, and that he would comfortable releasing a new album of country music at this point in his life. Country Music and Oprah Winfrey Special

The popularity of Country music has been growing steadily, and now it seems the current generation of new artists have made their way into the pop charts, so naturally the biggest names in entertainment want to associate themselves with the top country songwriters and performers. Oprah Winfrey has always been a supporter of country music, and now she has dedicated a one hour show to the country music industry.

The show is expected to have some great behind the scenes video of the performers as they get ready for shows, or are just hanging around. The artists that are on the show will be Sugarland and Darius Rucker, who have already confirmed this on their websites, and also Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood. The stars will be doing interviews with Oprah, and are also expected to perform some of their hit songs.

Well the hard work is starting to pay off in his favor, and the South Carolina native currently has a song in the Top 20 Country Songs Chart with his hit “It Won’t Be Like This For Long”, and is currently on tour to support the current country hit song, and for the critically acclaimed album Learn To Live. Hootie Charity Pro-Am is a lot of fun for the players and for the fans who watch, and has raised millions of dollars for children’s education through the Hootie and the Blowfish Foundation, the funds have been a large donater to the development of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association, helping turn it into into the nation’s top program.

Darius Rucker Makes Country Music History

Darius Rucker is making history by being the first African American in 20 years to enter the country music chart top 10.

His song, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” is currently at number 7 in the country music chart.

Rucker is probably better known as the lead singer and guitarist in the American rock band, Hootie & The Blowfish but has recently signed to Capital Records Nashville.

He sang background vocals on Radney Foster’s 1998 album, “See What You Want To See”. He sang background vocals on the track “Raining on Sunday”, which became a Top 5 in 2003 for Keith Urban.

He also played a singing cowboy in a Burger King commercial in 2005. Rucker sang a parody of “Big Rock Candy Mountain” in the ad for Burger King’s TenderCrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch sandwich.

When asked about his current success on the country music chart Rucker told press, “I was just trying to make a record that people wanted to hear”.

“Back in the day I wrote a lot of country songs and we turned them into rock ‘n’ roll songs. Now I get to write those songs and play them as country.”

Rucker’s new country album, “Learn To Live” will be released on September 16th.
