Reba McEntire To Debut “Strange” in Las Vegas

Reba McEntire will be singing her new single “Strange” in Las Vegas at the ACM awards on April 5. Reba also is the Master of Ceremonies for the star studded event, and will have to juggle her duties as M.C. and Performer. The release of her new album is not expected to late summer, but once you hear Strange, you can understand why Reba did not waste her time in getting it out, and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on ACM Award night is about as perfect an outlet to perform a new song.

The Academy has released some early winners, and has named the
Brad Paisley Video – Waiting On A Women, that he had done with Andy Griffith, as the Country Video of the Year award winner, and also that the Brad Paisley and Keith Urban duet that they performed together – Start A Band, won the Vocal Event of the Year award.

Reba McEntire’s Music will be coming from a different label, she recently signed with The Valory Music Company, the sister label to Big Machine Records, and they will be releasing her new album in the summer.

Vote For Your Favorite Country Entertainer

The Academy of Country Music has set up a website just for the purpose of voting for the top country entertainer. What most potential voters may say is where Taylor Swift? Well the nominees are based on sales from 2008, and Miss Swift had her largest impact on overall sales too late to influence her being included in this voting contest, but she is nominated for Top Female Vocalist and for the Video of the year for “Love Story”, so you can expect the 19 year old to be there and to perform one of her top country songs.

Go to the ACM Voting Website, that is actually part of the CBS network, and cast your vote. They have also set up Pick ‘Em Group game for a chance to win a $1000 that involves guessing who wins and if you are right, might win a thousand dollars.

When you arrive at the website, you are required to sign up, if you are not already a member, and then you will be voting for Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban for the Entertainer of the Year. All of the performers are expected to play at show on Sunday April 5, and you can also vote for the Top New Artist of the Year , that include Julianne Hough, Jake Owen and the Zac Brown Band. Reba McEntire will be the Master of Ceremonies, and she is also expected to sing at the most popular event of the Country Music calendar.

Brad Paisley Has Nothing Left to Prove

Really, what does Brad Paisley need to do to prove that he is one of the top Country Music singers. The West Virginia native just quietly won two Grammy’s this past week, one for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for his chart topping introspective song “Letter To Me” and another for his awesome guitar playing that landed him the Best Country Instrumental Performance for “Cluster Pluck” from his current top selling album PLAY. Did anyone notice that Brad Paisley was not even at the Grammy’s to recieve his awards?

Too bad the the public didn’t get a chance to see him play guitar live on “Cluster Pluck” with fellow strummers and pickers James Burton, Vince Gill, John Jorgenson, Albert Lee, Brent Mason, Redd Volkaert and Steve Wariner, that would have been a chance to see some pure country groovin’. Most other performers would not even think of producing an instrumental album at the height of their career, but that is how comfortable Brad Paisley is with himself, and with the support he knows he has from his fans.
