The Best Country Music
It’s All About Blake Shelton
This year has got to be one of the best for Blake Shelton. So far in 2010 he has had a #1 song with “Hillbilly Bone” that he did with Trace Adkins, which was the sixth number one single of his career, and also won the Academy of Country Music Vocal Event of the Year and the CMT Music Awards Collaborative Video of the Year, then in June of this year he announced the engagement to long time girlfriend and fellow country performer Miranda Lambert.
Now Blake has the current top country song with “All About Tonight” which becomes the 7th number one single for the singer from Oklahoma. The album that is also named All About Tonight became the #1 country album and you can consider this a home run for Blake.
Currently he is on tour and loves to play up to the crowds with some humour and of course some stories of what is going on with him lately . He is a little outspoken and if you go to the Blake Shelton Twitter page you will get a chance to see what is on his mind at the moment.

Miranda Lambert Is On A Roll
2010 has turned out to be one very successful year for Miranda Lambert. Her latest single “The House That Built Me” has become the first #1 song of her career. She has had a couple of top ten country songs with “White Liar” last year and “Gunpowder & Lead” in 2008, but this is her first top country song.
At this year’s ACM Awards show she captured three trophies winning Female Vocalist of the Year over Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. Even Miranda herself said that she did not see that coming and was very pleased to have won the award. Her album “Revolution” won Album of the Year. White Liar won Video of the Year for the Texas native.
As for her personal life, On May 9, 2010 her longtime boyfriend Blake Shelton proposed to Miranda after he had went to her father to ask for permission to marry his daughter.
The country singer and songwriter has started to crank up the tour buses as she gets ready to perform live across America in support of her first number one country song.
Update 6/12/2010 – Billboard Country Charts says that The House That Built Me is her first single to reach #1 in her career, here is a link to the story – Miranda Lambert’s first #1 song. Her current album “Revolution” did reach the #1 spot.
Her website does state that White Liar was a #1 country song, but Billboard does not. We are going to go with Billboard on this one until we hear different.

Miranda Lambert Is Heating Up
With her top 20 Country hit White Liar getting plenty of airtime, Miranda Lambert has been heating up the charts in 2010, and the country songwriter has been nominated for her song Dead Flowers in the Best Female Country Vocal Performance at the Grammy Awards.
White Liar is at #4 this week and is the highest charting song of her career. She said she is hoping that her fans will keep requesting the single so it can make it to #1. Miranda is currently on the road performing and has been with the opening act for Brad Paisley.
She likes to stay in touch with her fans thru the social networks like MySpace and Twitter. Here is a link to the Miranda Lambert Twitter page if you want to keep up with her tweets.
Her current boyfriend Blake Shelton also has a top 20 song with Hillbilly Bone and it is not unusual for the two to work together. With a long Summer of touring ahead for Miranda Lambert it may be tough for the two of them to connect, but the country singers will probably do a show or two together this year.

Blake Shelton Makes The Climb To Number One
After recording the first of four #1 songs of his career in 2001 with “Austin”, and then “The Baby” in 2002, followed by “Some Beach” in 2004, and the 2008 hit “Home”……. Blake Shelton’s song She Wouldn’t Be Gone has made the climb to #1 on the current Country Top Twenty song chart, making this his fifth number one song.
Blake has had a steady production of top twenty hits in his 10 years of recording and as of 2007, he began dating fellow country singer Miranda Lambert, whom he met at the CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets Concert. Lambert also sang background vocals on “Home”.
Here is a video and lyrics of the new #1 Country Single “She Wouldn’t Be Gone”……………
Red roadside wildflower,
if I’d only picked you,
took you home, set you on the counter,
oh at least a time or two,
maybe she’d have thought it through.
Yellow sunset
Slowly dippin’ down in the rearview,
oh how she loved to sit and watch you,
I could’ve done that a whole lot more.
If I hadn’t been so stubborn,
been so selfish,
thought about her more,
thought about me less.
Joked to make her laugh,
held her when she cried,
a little more of that, maybe I……
Wouldn’t be drivin’ like hell,
flyin’ like crazy down the highway,
callin’ everyone we know,
stoppin’ anyplace she might be,
goin’ anyplace she might go.
Beatin’ on the dash,
screamin’ out her name at the windshield,
tears soakin’ up my face.
if I’d loved her this much all along,
maybe, maybe, yeah maybe,
she wouldn’t be gone
she wouldn’t be gone.
She warned me it was comin’,
said if I didn’t change she was leavin’.
I just didn’t believe
she’d ever really walk out.
God I believe her now.
Called her momma,
cried like a baby to her best friend,
if they’ve seen her they ain’t sayin,
they ain’t sayin.
Now I’m cursin’ like a fool,
prayin’ it ain’t too late,
all i wanna do is fix my mistakes.
Find her, beg her, for one more try,
until then dammit I’ll………
Be drivin’ like hell,
flyin’ like crazy down the highway,
callin’ everyone we know,
stoppin’ anyplace she might be,
goin’ anyplace she might go.
Beatin’ on the dash,
screamin out her name at the windshield,
tears soakin’ up my face.
If I’d loved her this much all along,
maybe, maybe, yeah maybe,
she wouldn’t be gone.
I wouldn’t be beatin on the dash,
screamin’ out her name at the windshield,
tears soakin’ up my face.
if I’d have loved her this much all along,
maybe, maybe, yeah maybe,
she wouldn’t be gone.
Red roadside wildflower,
if I’d only picked you,
took you home, set you on the counter,
oh at least a time or two,
maybe she’d have thought it through.
