Lady Antebellum Continues The Success With Dancin’ Away With My Heart
Lady Antebellum continues the success With Dancin’ Away With My Heart, the third single from their third album “Own the Night.” Released in December 2011, it reached 15 on the Billboard country chart. The two previous singles from the album, “Just a Kiss” and “We Own the Night,” both broke the Billboard Top Twenty on the country chart as well.
Lead singer Hillary Scott and bandmate Charles Kelly trade off sentimental vocals about a long-lost senior prom date. The lush harmonies match the sumptuous production. It’s hardly a groundbreaker in terms of either style or substance, but nonetheless the song possesses a melody that’s light on the ears and a winning pop-country polish. In other words, it’s catchy but not unforgettable. The song was co-written by the members of Lady Antebellum with veteran songwriter Josh Kear.
Lady Antebellum has spend the last half-decade dancin’ away with more than just country music fans’ hearts. The group has been on a roll practically since the day they debuted in Nashville in 2006. “Own the Night” is nominated for a 2012 Grammy award for Best Country Album. The group has racked up dozens of awards from the Academy of Country Music, The Country Music Association, the Teen Choice Awards, the American Music Awards, The Billboard Music Awards and the Grammy Awards.
The band comes by their country music success story thanks to strong family connections. Charles Kelley is the brother of singer-songwriter Josh Kelly, while Hillary Scott is the daughter of Grammy winner and Reba McEntire protege Linda Davis. Expect this country trio’s star to continue to rise.
It seems that the country music industry has finally figured out that even if a song does not have an official video, that they should release the music with the lyrics on video channels so fans can have a chance to connect with their favorite bands until a full length video is produced. This is what Lady Antebellum has done with “Dancin’ Away With My Heart.”
Who Deserves To Be Country Music’s Best New Artist?
Three very different young men comprise this year’s list of The Academy Of Country Music New Artist of the Year. The 47th annual awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 1 in Las Vegas. The very best country performers will be there and showing off their talents. This is a can’t miss awards show and these three musicians will be a big part of the event.
Scotty McCreery is easily the best-known of all the nominees, thanks to his success on the tenth season “American Idol.” McCreery won the season finale and went on to release a platinum-selling album, “Clear As Day,” which includes the Billboard chart hits “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble with Girls.” McCreery’s baby face plus smooth baritone voice equals instant heartthrob, and he’s the artist most likely to go home with some new hardware for his mantle come April 1.
Brantley Gilbert is the dark horse, a Nashville outsider who released two albums on an independent label before signing to Valory Music for “Halfway to Heaven.” Gilbert is a little bit country but also a little bit rock-n-roll, bringing a rowdy redneck edge to his music. His single “Country Must Be Country Wide” received little airplay on traditional country stations but, thanks in large part to social media word of mouth, still reached number one on the Billboard country chart.
Hunter Hayes has been opening for Taylor Swift on the strength of his self-titled debut. Hayes made his mark in his native Louisiana as an accordionist before he was old enough to drink. Not just a pretty face, Hayes is dripping with talent and may be the most accomplished musician on the Best New Artist roster. He not only sang but played every instrument on his debut single “Storm Warning” and co-produced it, too.

Where I Come From By Montgomery Gentry Gets To The Point
Life is not all about luxuries and the latest single from Montgomery Gentry – Where I Come From gets right to the point about the subject. There are some things that money cannot buy. People today might be a lot different these days since most of them spend their time seeking perfection. Perfection in their career, their sons and daughters, perfection in relationships and almost everything in life. Sometimes, the essentials in life are lost. We begin to forget to look back where we come from and how life used to be.
The “Proud To An American” theme is evident in the video, and Montgomery Gentry makes sure the members of the U.S. Military get a front and center portion of the video. They want people to know that there is still fighting going on to protect the nation from it’s enemies, and to keep us a free nation.
In the video, Where I Come From, you will see how a man values his past and how simple life used to be. There are pine trees and birds, the river, the little white church and simplicity of life without the cuss of the city lights. Writing this latest country hit was probably not hard for the band, since it comes from the heart and describes what a lot of rural country fans feel like.
Montgomery Gentry stays on target with – “Where I Come From” as the band stands proud from where they grew up, where honesty is practised no matter how small their town may be. We all know for a fact that these little things are almost forgotten in the city today. People are blinded by the bright lights and the money the city has to offer. It is almost as easy for them to forget their soul and become very practical and forget about values that men also need.
No matter how wealthy we are physically, there are a lot of things that cannot be bought. The happiness and contentment that a person can have through a simple and honest life cannot be matched by gold or popularity.
The band understands and loves where they come from, and Montgomery Gentry does a great job of letting us know it.
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton Sing At The Super Bowl
National Football League fans got a chance to see Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton sing at the most viewed television show of the year – The Super Bowl.
The couple held hands as they sang America The Beautiful and you can see that they were a little nervous. Singing in front of a stadium of over 80,000 people, and a national broadcast of over 100 million viewers can do that to you.
Their was plenty of entertainment in and around the Super Bowl all week that included plenty of Country music stars . The pop music icon Madonna performed at halftime, and then another party after the game had plenty more bands performing live.
Kelly Clarkson sang the National Anthem right before the NFL Championship game. The New York Giants ended up beating the New England Patriots 21-17 in a very tight game that was decided in the last two minutes and became the third most viewed game of alltime.
It was nice to see the the two country singers get a chance to sing together and they did a good job with only an acoustic guitar as the background music. Here is a link to a video for the performance from Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton singing America The Beautiful at the Super Bowl.
Brantley Gilbert Is A Survivor
After nearly dying in a truck accident when he was nineteen, Gilbert Brantley took the experience as a sign, and it was what propelled him forward to his music career. Being at the wheel of his truck while drunk was not a good idea, yet he survived and written some great music for himself and for other country performers like Jason Aldean.
His current album Halfway To Heaven was first released from The Average Joe’s label before he decided to leave them and join The Valory Music Company. His website at Big Machine Records (the mother company of valory music) has plenty of information for anyone who wants to stay up with the latest happenings of the Georgia native.
Surviving the accident helped him create some true and heartfelt lyrics that come thru strong on the recordings from Halfway To Heaven. The first single to find the charts was – Country Must Be Country Wide, and it become a gold certified #1 top country song on the chart from Nov. 26th, 2011.
The latest track to make the airwaves is – You Don’t Know Her Like I Do and it sounds like the country/rocker has another hit on his hands. The lyrics talk about a relationship that has ended, but it takes time for the hearbreak to go away, more so when the person you are leaving has become your best friend and it feels like a family member has passed away.
Gilbert Brantley survived the accident for a reason, and the music he has produced comes from someone who knows that he is lucky to be alive, and wants others to know how precious life is.
Country music is three chords and the truth. ~ Harlan Howard
