Dierks Bentley Will Perform At Nobel Peace Prize Concert
Dierks Bentley is planning a trip to Norway in December to take part in the annual Nobel Peace Prize concert on December 11th.
Bentley has had a hectic year with a busy tour and the birth of his first daughter, Evalyn Day Bentley.
Bentley wasn’t planning on working this close to the end of 2008 but this particular event which will feature performers like Diana Ross and Canadian pop act Feist was simply too good to turn down.
“I really was trying to stay off the road that time of year, but it’s one of those opportunities that comes up that’s pretty tough to pass up”, says Bentley.
“What a cool thing to be part of. It’s world leaders from all over the world. It’s a really unique crowd of folks and a chance to go back to Norway. It’s just one of those things I said we’d do, and we’re gonna go do it”.
Not many country stars have performed at the event in the past. Those who have performed include Willie Nelson, Lee Ann Womack, Wynonna Judd and Emmylou Harris.
Bentley will be back on the road in January on Brad Paisley’s Paisley Party Tour which will also feature Crystal Shawanda and Darius Rucker.

Tim McGraw Has Finished New Album
Tim McGraw said yesterday in Nashville that he has finished work on an all new album. But McGraw isn’t sure when it will be released by record label, Curb Records.
McGraw is unhappy with Curb Records for releasing his Greatest Hits 3 album. He issued a statement on Tuesday apologizing to fans for the release of the Greatest Hits 3 album.
McGraw said he was not involved in discussions about the release of the greatest hits collection and was preparing his new album for release this fall.
Curb Records executive vice president and general manager Dennis Hannon issued a statement claiming he had “numerous conversations with McGraw’s representatives with respect to all aspects of the Greatest Hits 3 album”.
During an Interview with syndicated radio producers yesterday McGraw noted, “I’ve already said, really, what I needed to say about it. I think as an artist, I just wanted my fans to know that I wasn’t trying to screw them — period. They’ve all got that music. I’ve only had one album out since the last greatest hits album. It’s time for new music”.
LeAnn Rimes Starring In New Lifetime Movie
LeAnn Rimes is taking on the role of Meg Galloway in a new movie for the Lifetime Network.
She’s headed to Calgary next month to start work on the TV movie “Northern Lights”, which is based on a book by Norah Roberts.
Rimes will portray Meg Galloway, a pilot who is coming to terms with her own history.
“She’s a very complex individual, kind of a tough girl” said Rimes. “That kind of gets broken down. She falls in love with a new guy in town”.
As a result the plot will require Rimes to lock lips on screen. “I definitely will be making out with someone” she said. “We are not sure who yet. I think I know who, but I can’t say yet”.
Rimes made her acting debut in 1997 in the TV movie, “Holiday In Your Heart”. She had a part in the 2000 movie Coyote Ugly and portrayed Connie Francis in a 2003 episode of the nostalgic series “American Dreams”.
Also in 2007, she shot a part in Atlanta for the movie Good Intentions, which is still in production.
