When you see Brad Paisley perform you get a sense that the singer may be having more fun than his fans. The video for his current hit “Water” shows just how much he enjoys having a good time like the rest of us.

It may be easy to just sit and watch the show, but what gets lost sometimes is the incredible playing ability of the country songwriter. Each song he records he is sure to get a good old fashion country lead guitar lick in, and anyone who plays guitar will tell you that Brad Paisley is one of the best country lead guitarists around today.

Brad is getting ready for his performance at the signature event on July 10th for the Aquapalooza on Lake Travis, Texas . It is just a natural that his current release “Water” would be the top country song this week, and almost seems a little fishy (sorry we had to do it) that it would happen at the same time as his apperance at Aqaupalooza.

Each year seems to get better for Brad Paisley, and between the success of his album “American Saturday Night” and the #1 song this week, 2010 looks to be another year of record breaking sales.

Kansas native Jerrod Niemann has been playing country music since he was eight years old and starting perfoming at the ripe old age of ten, so you know that songwriting and playing live has become second nature to him.

Jerrod moved to Nashville in 2000 to continue on with his career and was noticed enough to get a developmental deal with Mercury Records in 2001. Below is a quote from Wikipedia that talks about his work with Garth Brooks .

In May 2001, Niemann was contacted by Garth Brooks to collaborate along with fellow songwriter Richie Brown. Niemann went on to cowrite three singles for Garth Brooks: the Chris LeDoux tribute “Good Ride Cowboy”, as well as “That Girl Is a Cowboy” and “Midnight Sun”. “Good Ride Cowboy” also earned Niemann a Broadcast Music Incorporated award for being one of the most played country songs of 2005.

His current top ten hit “Lover, Lover” is the first single from his album “Judge Jerrod & the Hung Jury“. You can hear the whole album when it is released July 13th, 2010. Having a song on the country charts will help to pump up the sales, and Jerrod is also on the road playing at assorted country fairs, radio stations and music events like the
AquaPalooza 2010 on Lake Travis with Brad Paisley on July 10th.

Jerrod has his first #1 song with “Lover, Lover“. In a quote below from his website the singer says he is happy just to have his songs on the radio, never mind have a top country song……..

Niemann shares, “It’s pretty weird to have a song go #1 ten years after the day you set foot in Nashville to visit. But at the end of the day, I’m just happy to have anything out there on the radio, and the most exciting thing for me is actually being able to step on stage and people be there to cheer you on, and then – of course, when we sing ‘Lover, Lover’ – to sing along. There’s no other word to describe it than ‘amazing.’”

As would be expected, many of the top country artists have had a helping hand with performing concerts to help raise money for the Nashville Flood relief.

The CMA Music Fest which was held this weekend will be donating money to try and offset the more than $2 billion dollars in flooding that happened all across Tennessee that started with the first big storm of May 1st.

The 2010 Summer NAMM scheduled for June 18-20 will feature some of the local musicians and top performers and will be taking donations to help with the cause.

The largest event put together just for the support of the Middle Tennesee area will be the Nashville Rising Concert that will at the Bridgestone Arena on June 22nd, 2010. This will include all of the top selling names like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Brooks & Dunn and Miranda Lambert.

Also scheduled is ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd as well as Billy Ray Cyrus and daughter Miley Cyrus. This is a one time event and getting tickets for the show are hard to get.

2010 has turned out to be one very successful year for Miranda Lambert. Her latest single “The House That Built Me” has become the first #1 song of her career. She has had a couple of top ten country songs with “White Liar” last year and “Gunpowder & Lead” in 2008, but this is her first top country song.

At this year’s ACM Awards show she captured three trophies winning Female Vocalist of the Year over Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. Even Miranda herself said that she did not see that coming and was very pleased to have won the award. Her album “Revolution” won Album of the Year. White Liar won Video of the Year for the Texas native.

As for her personal life, On May 9, 2010 her longtime boyfriend Blake Shelton proposed to Miranda after he had went to her father to ask for permission to marry his daughter.

The country singer and songwriter has started to crank up the tour buses as she gets ready to perform live across America in support of her first number one country song.

Update 6/12/2010 – Billboard Country Charts says that The House That Built Me is her first single to reach #1 in her career, here is a link to the story – Miranda Lambert’s first #1 song. Her current album “Revolution” did reach the #1 spot.

Her website does state that White Liar was a #1 country song, but Billboard does not. We are going to go with Billboard on this one until we hear different.

After twenty years the country duo of Brooks and Dunn are going to go their seperate ways when the touring of 2010 ends. It was nice of CBS to help put together a special that had the top selling performers in country music get a chance to sing and play some of their favorite Brooks & Dunn songs.

Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn had some success before they joined forces, but they will be known as one of the all time selling country duo’s ever.

We have put together a poll of some of their record toping songs and then some. You can pick any three songs as one of your favorites. There are some hard choices here, but it makes it more fun that way.
