Montgomery Gentry – There’s One In Every Crowd
Every once in a while there is a song that is destined for the top country song charts even though the band did not put in the normal public relations work. There’s One In Every Crowd has hit a nerve with the fun loving crowd, and Montgomery Gentry has not even released an official video for the top twenty country song, sometimes things happen for a reason, and maybe by not trying to over expose the hit song, the band has let There’s One In Every Crowd gain it’s own fame thru their fans – not a bad idea.
Golden Tee, shuffleboard, pinball, he’s got the score
that everybody around here’s tryin to beat,
he’s a six pack up when he walks in,
tells the band crank it up to 10,
then he’s up dancin on his seat,
well he’s a big mouth, yellin’ hey play some free bird,
says give me three steps and nobody gets hurt,
then he takes off his shirt
There’s one in every crowd,
brings the party in us out,
good time charley with a harley, whiskey bent and hellbound,
he’s got the next round, but he always drinks for free,
there’s one in every crowd, and it’s usually me,
hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, there’s one in every crowd
Got a fliptop box of marlboros,
he’ll bum a light and steal your girl,
then laugh at you for gettin’ all upset, well everybody here knows his name,
makes everybody else look sane,
when he’s out, as far as you can get,
in his mind he’s a rock star, crankin’ out that air guitar,
til the bartender says fool, get off my bar
There’s one in every crowd,
that brings the party in us out,
good time charley with a harley, whiskey bent and hellbound,
he’s got the next round, but he always drinks for free,
there’s one in every crowd, and it’s usually me,
hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, there’s one in every crowd
He’s a hard drinkin man’s man,
and women love him when they can,
he’s a bartender’s best friend,
it ain’t a party till he walks in
There’s one in every crowd,
that brings the party in us out,
good time charley with a harley, whiskey bent and hellbound,
he’s got the next round, but he always drinks for free,
there’s one in every crowd, and it’s usually me,
hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, there’s one in every crowd
It’s usually me, hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, there’s one in every crowd, that’s right
Jason Aldean Climbing The Charts
Jason Aldean has been performing since a teenager, and was reported to have actually been ready to give up his dream and head home to be with his wife after spending time in Nashville to find a recording contract, lucky for Jason he stayed around long enough to be signed by Broken Bow Records.
With his successful first album from 2005 named “Jason Aldean“, And a run of three top 40 country songs that included – “Hicktown”, “Amarillo Sky” and his first No. 1 song “Why”, Jason followed that up with the over million selling album “Relentess”, and once again had three more top 40 country songs with “Relentless”, “Johnny Cash” and the very popular “Laughed Until We Cried”.
It is no surprise that his current album “Wide Open” has started to produce some top country songs like “She’s Country” which that has just broken into the Top 20 Country Songs, and shows his country rock roots influence from growing up in Georgia and Florida from classic rockers like Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers. Jason Aldean has made a spot for himself in Country music for the future and is currently on tour, and here is a list from the Jason Aldean Website with the dates and cities.
Here’s the video and lyrics of the hit song She’s Country……………..
You boys ever met a real country girl?
Talkin, true blue, out in the woods,
down home, country girl
She’s a hot little number in her pick-up truck
Daddy’s sweet money done jacked it up
She’s a party-all-nighter from South Carolina,
a bad mamajama from down in Alabama
She’s a ragin’ cajun, a lunatic from Brunswick,
juicy Georgia peach
With a thick southern drawl, sexy swing and walk,
brother she’s all…………
Country, (shoot) from her cowboy boots to her down home roots
She’s country, from the songs she plays to the prayers she prays,
That’s the way she was born and raised, she ain’t afraid to stay, country
Brother she’s country
A hell raisin’ sugar when the sun goes down, mama taught her how to rip up a town
Honey dripping honey from the hollerin Kentucky,
getcha flippin kinda trippie like a Mississippi hippie,
She’s a Kansas princess, crazy mother trucker, undercover lover
Thick southern drawl, sexy swing and walk,
Brother she’s all………..
Country (shoot) from her cowboy boots to her down home roots
She’s country, from the songs she plays to the prayers she prays,
That’s the way she was born and raised, she ain’t afraid to stay, country
Nothin but country
(thick southern drawl)
(sexy swing and walk)
(aw show ‘em how a country girl does it one time now)
Brother she’s country, from her cowboy boots to her down home roots
Nothin but country
Yea yea yea
She’s country (shoot) from her cowboy boots to her down home roots
She’s country, from the songs she plays to the prayers she prays,
That’s the way she was born and raised she ain’t afraid to stay, country
Yea she’s nothing but country
She’s all about the country
From the backwoods she’s a homegrown, down to the bone, she’s country
Another Look At The Grammy’s For Country Performers
Country Music had a large showing at the 2009 Grammy’s, and came away with the Best Album of the Year in “Raising Sand” from Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Here is a look at who played @ The Staples Center……Keith Urban spent his time on the Grammy’s backing up legend Al Green and pop favorite Justin Timberlake, he also sat in on a jam session with Blues master B.B. King.
Carrie Underwood came out with “Last Name”, which is a bit of a rocker for the country sweetheart. Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus joined together for an acoustic version of “Fifteen” as her band stood quietly below the stage and backed up the duo.
Kenny Chesney was alone and was spotlighted for his singing of “Better as a Memory”, and country favorites Sugarland had the stage all to themselves for “Stay”. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss decided to do a medley of “Gone, Gone, Gone” and” “Please Read The Letter” with T-Bone Burnett on Guitar.
Here is a video and the lyrics of the Grammy Award winning song “Please Read The Letter”……………..
Caught out running
With just a little too much to hide
Maybe baby
Everything’s gonna turn out fine
Please read the letter
I nailed it to your door
It’s crazy how it all turned out
We needed so much more
Once I put beside you a well of many words
My house was full of rings and
Charms and pretty birds
Please understand me
My walls came falling down
There’s nothing here that’s left for you
But check with lost and found
Ahhhhhhhh…………
Please read the letter that I wrote
Please read the letter that I wrote
Please read the letter that I wrote
One more song, just before we go
Remember baby
You gonna reap
Just what you sow
Please read my letter
And promise me you’ll keep
The secrets and the memories
We cherish in the deep
Please read the letter
I nailed it to your door
It’s Crazy how it all turned out
We needed so much more
Please read the letter that I wrote
Please read the letter that I wrote
Please read the letter that I wrote
Please read the letter that I wrote
Please read the letter that I wrote
Please read the letter that I wrote
Blake Shelton Makes The Climb To Number One
After recording the first of four #1 songs of his career in 2001 with “Austin”, and then “The Baby” in 2002, followed by “Some Beach” in 2004, and the 2008 hit “Home”……. Blake Shelton’s song She Wouldn’t Be Gone has made the climb to #1 on the current Country Top Twenty song chart, making this his fifth number one song.

Here is a video and lyrics of the new #1 Country Single “She Wouldn’t Be Gone”……………
Red roadside wildflower,
if I’d only picked you,
took you home, set you on the counter,
oh at least a time or two,
maybe she’d have thought it through.
Yellow sunset
Slowly dippin’ down in the rearview,
oh how she loved to sit and watch you,
I could’ve done that a whole lot more.
If I hadn’t been so stubborn,
been so selfish,
thought about her more,
thought about me less.
Joked to make her laugh,
held her when she cried,
a little more of that, maybe I……
Wouldn’t be drivin’ like hell,
flyin’ like crazy down the highway,
callin’ everyone we know,
stoppin’ anyplace she might be,
goin’ anyplace she might go.
Beatin’ on the dash,
screamin’ out her name at the windshield,
tears soakin’ up my face.
if I’d loved her this much all along,
maybe, maybe, yeah maybe,
she wouldn’t be gone
she wouldn’t be gone.
She warned me it was comin’,
said if I didn’t change she was leavin’.
I just didn’t believe
she’d ever really walk out.
God I believe her now.
Called her momma,
cried like a baby to her best friend,
if they’ve seen her they ain’t sayin,
they ain’t sayin.
Now I’m cursin’ like a fool,
prayin’ it ain’t too late,
all i wanna do is fix my mistakes.
Find her, beg her, for one more try,
until then dammit I’ll………
Be drivin’ like hell,
flyin’ like crazy down the highway,
callin’ everyone we know,
stoppin’ anyplace she might be,
goin’ anyplace she might go.
Beatin’ on the dash,
screamin out her name at the windshield,
tears soakin’ up my face.
If I’d loved her this much all along,
maybe, maybe, yeah maybe,
she wouldn’t be gone.
I wouldn’t be beatin on the dash,
screamin’ out her name at the windshield,
tears soakin’ up my face.
if I’d have loved her this much all along,
maybe, maybe, yeah maybe,
she wouldn’t be gone.
Red roadside wildflower,
if I’d only picked you,
took you home, set you on the counter,
oh at least a time or two,
maybe she’d have thought it through.
Kristy Lee Cook – “15 Minutes of Shame”
Kristy Lee Cook has made the most of her top 10 finish on “American Idol” with her hit song “15 Minutes of Shame”.
Right now country music seems to be in a groove producing top selling female artists that seem to make a crossover into the mainstream popular music charts and Kristy Lee Cook is no exception, she actually had some success before Americon Idol, being signed by Britney Spears music company, before all of the Britney controversy, only to be dropped without a chance to record, and then being signed by Arista Nashville.
The Seattle born performer, who now resides in Oregon. has a love of horses and is rumored to be getting married this year. but she will be getting her chance to tour, and will be building up a grassroots following that should help her to grow in popularity.
Here is a video and lyrics of Kristy’s – “15 Minutes of Shame”.
Yeah,
This song is about you!
I’m giving you more than fair warnin’
Right now on your radio!
Everybody’s gonna hear
All the things that you did
That you don’t want the world to know!
I’m spillin’ the beans,
I’m shouttin’ it out!
Yeah, you’re gonna be sorry now!
Every single lie you told
I’m tellin!
Every promise that you broke
I’m rattin’ you out!
Every girl in this world’s gonna know your name!
And I hope you enjoy your 15 minutes of shame!
Yeah!
Oh-oh!
Hey,
You’re lookin’ nervous!
Now that your double talkin’ has caught back up with you!
Stick to your alibi!
Don’t try to deny it,
When I reveal the truth!
Sure, you’re pretty good,
At workin’ a line.
But it’s all just a matter of time!
Every single lie you told
I’m tellin!
Every promise that you broke
I’m rattin’ you out!
Every girl in this world’s gonna know your name!
And I hope you enjoy your 15 minutes of…
Shame, shame, shame on you!
Look who’s lookin’ like a fool!
Now!
Blame, blame, blame yourself!
Won’t be foolin’ no one else!
Anymore…
Every single lie you told
I’m tellin!
Every promise that you broke
I’m rattin’ you out!
Every girl in this world’s gonna know your name!
Jason
And I hope you enjoy your 15 minutes of shame!
Yeah-yeah!
Ooh-ooh!
Your 15 minutes of shame, shame, shame!
Uh… huh…
Your 15 minutes of sha-a-ame!
Country music is three chords and the truth. ~ Harlan Howard
