Georgia native Jason Aldean just kicked off his tour Wide Open this past weekend in support of his current album, and the timing could not have been better, as he has his third #1 song The Truth from the Wide Open album.

The other two chart toppers “Big Green Tractor” and “She’s Country” were some of the biggest hits in 2009, and the momentum has not stopped for the country songwriter. It looks like a lot of the shows for the current tour are selling out as fast as they are getting released. Miranda Lambert Is Heating Up

With her top 20 Country hit White Liar getting plenty of airtime, Miranda Lambert has been heating up the charts in 2010, and the country songwriter has been nominated for her song Dead Flowers in the Best Female Country Vocal Performance at the Grammy Awards.

White Liar is at #4 this week and is the highest charting song of her career. She said she is hoping that her fans will keep requesting the single so it can make it to #1. Miranda is currently on the road performing and has been with the opening act for Brad Paisley.

Tim McGraw Is Not Slowing Down

If you think that one of the all time selling country songwriters is slowing down you can forget about it. Tim Mcgraw already has a top country song in 2010 with Southern Voice and he will be touring in support of the hit album thruout the whole year that will be making stops in Canada and all parts of the United States.

Being married to Faith Hill and having three daughters to worry about would seem to be enough to slow down his career to a halt, but the man has endless energy, and with his latest movie The Blind Side that he did with Sandra Bullock being so popular, has led to another acting roll that has him performing in Love Don’t Let Me Down a movie with Gwyneth Paltrow that has already started filming this past week in Nashville.

2010 Grammys Have Plenty Of Country Flavor

This Past week The Grammy Awards announced some of the nominees and of course as you could figure out, Taylor Swift was nominated all over the place. She has plenty of chances to win after her record smashing year of 2009.

The Fearless album was the top seller, with her solid country following and crossover popularity with the pop music crowd, has made her into a record selling and award winning machine. To be honest, Taylor has worked hard and probably deserves all of the attention she is getting, but even the country sweetheart could not have seen how far and how fast she has come in the music industry at this point in her career.

Hopefully Kayne West is nowhere to be found if and when Taylor gets on stage to except an award. She is expected to perform as well the Zac Brown Band, who has been nominated three times, and Lady Antebellum who also has been nominated in the country music category.

The 52nd GRAMMY Awards will take place live on Sunday, Jan. 31, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be telecast on the CBS Television Network from 8–11:30 p.m. This is billed as the biggest night in music, and has all of the top selling music artists in the industry. The show has been trying to get more country music and performers involved, and each year it seems to growing.

Steel Magnolia – Keep On Lovin’ You

Steel Magnolia has only one song to their credit – Keep On Lovin’ You, but the single has made it’s way into the country charts. The duo of Louisiana native Meghan Linsey and Illinois born Joshua Scott Jones have a strong start to their careers.

The story on their MySpace page says that Steel Magnolia blossomed one late night in March in Nashville’s famous, Printer’s Alley. It was a bit like magic when Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones took the stage and sang together for the first time. Who knew that a chance meeting in a karaoke bar and an impromptu performance of Air Supply’s “I’m All Out Of Love” would bloom into something so musically refreshing.

The two were the winners on the CMT show Can You Duet and released the single right after the show ended. They have since signed with Big Machine Records the home of Taylor Swift and Reba. This will be good for the duo since Big Machine is known for letting their performers have a strong say in what they sing, and this should let Steel Magnolia focus on their music and the normal music industry politics.

The pairs first album is scheduled to be out sometime in 2010, and the band already has a following, so you can expect that the country songwriters debut album should have strong sales. They are making the rounds across the country at different concert venues, and have been dropping into many country music radio stations for live acoustic performances. This should give everyone a chance to see and here them before they make the big album release.
