The Best Country Music
Alan Jackson – Sissy’s Song
Alan Jackson has been a favorite of both Canadian and American country music fans since his first number one single on the billboard country charts with – I’d Love You All Over Again, a song he wrote for his wife Denise. The couple both moved to Nashville to pursue Alan’s singing career, and he had the chance to meet Glen Campbell, who gave him his first real chance to make it in the country music industry.
The Alan Jackson discography shows that the talented singer from Georgia has over twenty No. 1 songs, and he also wrote many hit songs for performers like Randy Travis, George Jones and Faith Hill. His current top country song – Sissy’s Song – has been making a steady climb in the charts. He tells the story about the young girl who had been working for his family, and died in a car accident. He admits that this really affected him, and only hopes this song can help other people that have faced a similiar type tragedy.
Randy Houser – Going Out With His Boots On
In 2002, Mississippi man Randy Houser moved to Nashville, Tennessee to further his country songwriting career. He had the good fortune of meeting up with Jamey Johnson and Dallas Davidson and the three came up with the country music classic – Honky Tonk Badonkadonk - which made it to the country top twenty after it was recorded by Trace Adkins for the 2005 album Songs About Me and released as a single later that year.
With this headstart Randy Houser was rewarded with a recording contract with Universal South Records in 2008. His first single, Anything Goes, made it to the top 40 on the Billboard country charts. His debut album, also titled Anything Goes, was released in November. Fast forward to May of 2009 and the country artist now has his second top 20 song with – Boots On. Randy is currently on tour as part of the Jagermeister Country Tour – and you can visit his website to get the Randy Houser Concert Dates.
Taylor Swift – You Belong With Me
Not that it should come as a surprise, but Taylor Swift has once again made her way into the Country Charts with her currrent single – You Belong With Me. The album Fearless seems to have an endlesss supply of hit songs, and her ability to write songs for the modern country music fans seems almost magical.
You can debate whether or not she is actually a pure country artist, or if she is more of a pop music performer, but as long as her record breaking sales continue, it won’t really matter to her fans. Taylor Swift is unique among most songwriters, as she has found a way to record all of her own songs, and has made a deal with her record company to continue to be the sole provider of all of her material – unless she chooses to use someone elses music.
You can watch Taylor on the Dateline Show on NBC May 31st, as she does an interview for the award winning television show.

Montgomery Gentry – There’s One In Every Crowd
Every once in a while there is a song that is destined for the top country song charts even though the band did not put in the normal public relations work. There’s One In Every Crowd has hit a nerve with the fun loving crowd, and Montgomery Gentry has not even released an official video for the top twenty country song, sometimes things happen for a reason, and maybe by not trying to over expose the hit song, the band has let There’s One In Every Crowd gain it’s own fame thru their fans – not a bad idea.
Golden Tee, shuffleboard, pinball, he’s got the score
that everybody around here’s tryin to beat,
he’s a six pack up when he walks in,
tells the band crank it up to 10,
then he’s up dancin on his seat,
well he’s a big mouth, yellin’ hey play some free bird,
says give me three steps and nobody gets hurt,
then he takes off his shirt
There’s one in every crowd,
brings the party in us out,
good time charley with a harley, whiskey bent and hellbound,
he’s got the next round, but he always drinks for free,
there’s one in every crowd, and it’s usually me,
hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, there’s one in every crowd
Got a fliptop box of marlboros,
he’ll bum a light and steal your girl,
then laugh at you for gettin’ all upset, well everybody here knows his name,
makes everybody else look sane,
when he’s out, as far as you can get,
in his mind he’s a rock star, crankin’ out that air guitar,
til the bartender says fool, get off my bar
There’s one in every crowd,
that brings the party in us out,
good time charley with a harley, whiskey bent and hellbound,
he’s got the next round, but he always drinks for free,
there’s one in every crowd, and it’s usually me,
hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, there’s one in every crowd
He’s a hard drinkin man’s man,
and women love him when they can,
he’s a bartender’s best friend,
it ain’t a party till he walks in
There’s one in every crowd,
that brings the party in us out,
good time charley with a harley, whiskey bent and hellbound,
he’s got the next round, but he always drinks for free,
there’s one in every crowd, and it’s usually me,
hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, there’s one in every crowd
It’s usually me, hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, hey ya’ll, there’s one in every crowd, that’s right
