Reba McEntire will be singing her new single “Strange” in Las Vegas at the ACM awards on April 5. Reba also is the Master of Ceremonies for the star studded event, and will have to juggle her duties as M.C. and Performer. The release of her new album is not expected to late summer, but once you hear Strange, you can understand why Reba did not waste her time in getting it out, and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on ACM Award night is about as perfect an outlet to perform a new song.

The Academy has released some early winners, and has named the
Brad Paisley Video – Waiting On A Women, that he had done with Andy Griffith, as the Country Video of the Year award winner, and also that the Brad Paisley and Keith Urban duet that they performed together – Start A Band, won the Vocal Event of the Year award.

Reba McEntire’s Music will be coming from a different label, she recently signed with The Valory Music Company, the sister label to Big Machine Records, and they will be releasing her new album in the summer.

The battle is on for Carrie Underwood in the The Entertainer Of The Year voting. The country singer is the only girl nominated for the Academy of Country Music award, and is going against the biggest names of country that include, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, and the man who will be honored with the performer of the decade – George Strait.

Miss Underwood is also nominated for the top Female Vocalist, Album of the Year for – Carnival Ride and for the Video Of The Year for – Just A Dream. She is also Scheduled to sing on the show, Sunday night April 5, and of course every major country songwriter and performer will be at the most important event in the country music calendar.

Country songwriter, singer and performer Dan Seals passed away at his daughters home in Nashville from cancer on Wednesday March 25, 2009. As of late the singer had been performing and recording with his older brother, Jim Seals
of Seals & Croft fame. The Texas native had quite a few country hit songs in the 1980′s that included a #1 hit song when he sang a duet with then country singer, Marie Osmond – “Meet Me In Montana” – and two more No. 1 songs from the hit album “Won’t Be Blue Anymore” with Everything That Glitter’s (Is Not Gold), and the very popular – “Bop”.

In 1986 he won two Country Music Association Awards, one for the top country single “Bop” and also for the top duo act, for the song “Meet Me in Montana” that he had recorded with Marie.

Before his country hits, Dan Seals was part of a duo called England Dan & John Ford Coley , and they had success on the pop charts, with their hit song from 1976 – “I’d Really Love to See You Tonight” – that made it to #2 on the popular music charts that year.

After returning from her very successful tour of Australia and performing at the charity concert for the Sydney Sound Relief Bush Fire Benefit for victims of the devasting brushfires that happened in Victoria, country sweetheart Taylor Swift played at the Houston Rodeo March 20 in front of the largest crowds ever, and is getting ready for her “Fearless Tour” with her friend Kellie Pickler and recently formed country band Gloriana, as her warmup acts.

This week Taylor Swift’s Photo Shoot From Allure Magazine will be released, and the pictures show the model side of 19 Year Old. Recently Taylor had her episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation aired on CBS Television, and Rolling Stone magazine followed her around for their story, and they took time to straighten out her curls for a seldom seen look of Taylor. The talented country songwriter will be at the American Country Music Awards show April 5 to perform and probably pick up some awards. The new Hannah Montana is coming out this April 10th, and Taylor will be in the movie with Miley Cyrus, and also has a song on the soundtrack.

Walt Disney Studios just released a Video for the Taylor Swift song Crazier that has the star Hannah Montana dancing to the music, Taylor and her band are playing on a stage at a neighborhood party.

Tickets for the concerts on the the upcoming Fearless Tour have been selling out at record selling rates and fans have been buying them as soon as they are released, Madison Square Garden sold out in One Minute. Taylor Swift has made the most of her opportunities, and the fact that she is so honest, open and transparent with her fans, she will probably continue to be very popular.

With his second #1 song from his first solo album “Learn To Live“, Country music’s latest star Darius Rucker has proven that fans enjoy the style of his music.
It Won’t Be Like This For Long has been making the slow steady climb up the Country Music Charts, and the Hootie and The Blowfish frontman has been playing all the small venues in support of his debut album as the opening act for some of the bigger country names, but now with two #1′s under his belt, the man from Myrtle Beach will be a headliner for his own tour in the future.

Nahville must be mildly surprised with all of his success, but with the track record of being a hit songwriter, producing popular country music should not be a big reach for the talented Darius Rucker, and this should help to motivate him to continue on with his “country career”.

The Album Learn To Live has recently gone Gold, and Darius has moved into elite company with this accomplishment. It Won’t Be Like This For Long though – Darius has a lot of competition for the top spot on Country Top 20, as Brooks & Dunn and Taylor Swift are waiting their turn……………….
