The Best Country Music
Sara Evans Sings From Experience
With her latest single – My Heart Can’t Tell You No, Sara Evans can sing from a history that includes her first hand knowledge of a complex relationship gone wrong.
In 2006 she withdrew from Dancing With The Stars after filing for divorce during the middle of the competition. Things just got a little uglier from there and you can read about it at theexaminer.com website.
Even though she did not write the words or the music for the song, Sara Evans has done a great job of capturing what the lyrics are all about in the video for My Heart Can’t Tell You No.
For anyone who does not know, this is a cover of a Rod Stewart song from 1988. The single was a top ten Billboard song (#4) that got a lot of airplay in the U.S. market.
Sara sings this song from past experiences, and the first track – A Little Bit Stronger, to be released from the current album Stronger was a #1 top country song, and it looks like My Heart Can’t Tell You No will be making a steady climb up the charts, as it sits at the #22 on the the top country song list for the week of Dec. 17, 2011.
Another Top Country Song For The Zac Brown Band With – Keep Me In Mind
The low key but very talented Zac Brown Band does what comes naturally to them with their latest single – Keep In Mind and that is produce another top country song.
This is their eighth single to reach the top of the Billboard country chart, and more incredible is that it is the fourth #1 single to come from the You Get What You Give album. The other chart toppers were “As She’s Walking Away” (featuring Alan Jackson), “Colder Weather” and “Knee Deep” (featuring Jimmy Buffett).
Many country performers will never have more than one or two top twenty songs in their career, but the Zac Brown Band have found a strong following and this will probably not be the last single to be on top for the Georgia band.
The music video for Keep Me In Mind shows the band playing it live and having plenty of fun. They are a mix of Country/Blues/Tex-Mex and plenty of dance beats, so it is tough to pinpoint their actual style, but you can classify it as enjoyable.
Adding another hit to their Discography is getting to be old hat, but they have plenty of lyrics and music to record in the studio, so unless the boys decide to retire (yea right!) in the near future, expect to keep your feet moving to some more great Zac Brown Band music.
Rodney Atkins Divorcing From Wife Of Ten Years
After being together for more than 10 years, Tammy Jo and Rodney Atkins have filed for a divorce. This comes after a report was filed in November of this year that accuses Rodney of trying to suffocate Tammy with a pillow.
The singer was taken to the prison and paid a bail of $2500 to be released, after he had his mug picture taken.
No one wants their relationship to end this way, but after a night of heavy drinking Rodney puts his family in a bad position. It was also reported that his ten year old son heard a lot of the loud talking, and the couple went to another room to move away from their son Elijah.
He has denied his wifes account of the night, and wants his family and friends to know that his side of the story will get out.
He is also scheduled to appear, along with Lauren Alaina, on Fox’s TV special, ‘American Country New Year’s Eve Live,’ which will air on Dec. 31 at 11:00 PM ET. We will have to wait see how country fans react to the incident, and how much support he gets.
Tammy Jo can be seen in the video – Farmer’s Daughter, which Rodney Atkin says was a song about him and her.
Dierks Bentley Still Feeling Good About His Home
In the latest Dierks Bentley single – Home, the artist sings about how he feels about the country he was born in.
The lyrics are little vague at times, but when you match up the words with the video it all becomes a little more obvious what he is talking about.
Like a lot of Americans Dierks Bentley understands that we have made some mistakes in the past, but when the country is challenged like what happened on September 11th, we all come together and still call it home and want to defend it.
Dierks joined Capitol Nashville in 2003, and has not looked back as far as being a top country song performer is concerned. The only album to not produce a number one hit was Up On The Ridge , yet he still has a total of eight #1 singles to his credit as his discography shows.
You can make your own video by uploading photos of your friends and family on the DierksBentleyHome.com website. What you get is a personalized music video that you can share with everyone (cool idea).
The official release of the album – Home is still waiting to be available in Feburary of 2012.
Toby Keith Keeping It Real With Red Solo Cup
I have to admit the first time I heard Red Solo Cup from Toby Keith the words and music did not overly impress me, but after a few tries the music and vocal hookline has stuck in my head.
Does this make it one of the best country songs of all time? probably not, yet it does have the advantage of being something everyone can relate with. It is #25 on the current country charts and climbing.
The red solo cup is a staple at any outdoor cookout and BBQ because of the volume of liquid (think beer) it can hold, and for the frugal people you can actually clean and reuse them. The song probably has helped sales go thru the roof (does Toby have a contract with Solo?).
If you have the pleasure of drinking while the song is playing, then you have to sing along, especially if you are holding one the most popular party drink cups in America.
In the unedited version of the Video of Red Solo Cup – Toby Keith is actually having a house party and it may look familiar to anyone who has participated in one.
I lift my glass, cup to you Toby Keith for introducing another song about a great American Staple – the Red Solo Cup.
